My interest in design concerns people’s tactile, cognitive and emotional engagement with their surroundings, with particular focus on their relationships with objects. I strive to playfully push the experiential potential of everyday materiality far beyond mere aesthetics and function. Through a revelation of beauty I explore and celebrate forms and textures hidden within the everyday. I have a strong leaning towards objects of utility and deliberately situate my practice in the somewhat fluid threshold between art and design. I defy the assumption that design objects should perform a function while art objects must transcend function.
